Andrew Pareles

Hi, I'm Andrew. I'm building Glass (YC S24).

In my free time, I think about internet protocols and space-time bounds on general classes of computational problems. I studied CS, Physics, and Math at Cornell.

Startup

  • Void

I co-created Void, an open source tool we grew to 28k stars and over 200k users. I did a lot of community management, architected the project, etc.

  • GlassJS

Built GlassJS, one of the earliest vibe-coding tools ever (2024).

  • DeriveIt

Built DeriveIt, a first-principles edtech site that's used by students at every Ivy League and in official classes at Cornell.

Projects post-GPT

  • BranchTracker
BranchTracker is Sourcetree for managing your Codex worktrees and chats.
  • unfunction
Unfunction lets you see through layers of abstraction by inlining function calls.
  • Quantum Dice Roll
Quantum Dice Roll lets you UNIX-fork the universe and read out which one you're in.
  • scope-tailwind renders Tailwind without style conflicts. Used in Void.

Projects pre-GPT

  • Reelers.io multiplayer game
reelers.io is a multiplayer io game built on top of an HTML canvas & WebSockets.
  • Crystal energy band visualization
I made a tool to visualize wavefunctions and their energy bands near defects.
  • A photo of a cube from 3DTest
3D renderer is a graphics project I made from scratch.
  • custom-markdown lets you render custom grammars in React. Used on DeriveIt.
